banana peels do not serve only to make compost or comedy program: a new research shows that heavy metal contaminants can extract water from rivers. Metals such as lead and copper enter waterways through a variety of sources, including agricultural runoff and industrial waste. Once there, the heavy metals can contaminate soil and pose serious health risks to humans and other species. It is known that lead affects the brain and nervous system.

Traditionally, engineers specializing in water quality have used silica, aluminum oxide, cellulose and water to remove heavy metals, but these strategies are expensive and involve potentially toxic side effects themselves. Function as pumps due to the presence of acids as those found in carboxylic and phenolic groups, attracting metal ions. Bananas, on the other hand, seem to be a safe alternative.

banana peels also have better performance than its competition, says Gustavo Castro, a researcher at the Institute of Biosciences of Botucatu, Brazil, and coauthor of a new study on this use. For the study, Castro and his crew and ground dried banana peels and combined with flasks of water with known metal concentrations. They also developed water filters with the shells and made by running water through them.

In both scenarios, "the metal was removed from the water and was mixed in shells," said Castro, stating that the extraction capacity of banana peels exceeded that of other materials used to remove heavy metals. Previous studies have shown that other plants - including waste apples and sugar cane, coconut fibers and peanut shells - water can remove potential toxins.

home do not

Castro advised to use banana peels for purifying water in homes. For starters, the concentration of heavy metals in tap water is usually negligible. Also, although putting banana skins in contact with water is likely to draw some metals, it is unlikely that the average person to quantify success. According to Castro, the findings of their study will likely be used in industrial environments. The new study is published in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, a journal of the American Chemical Society.

"Our management is driven from October 2010 and so far feel good incorporation: 1692 there has never been taxpayers in Puerto Padre. Another fact that will stimulate, is when the markets open for separate sales of goods to these people, "reflects the lawyer Innocent Ávila Delgado, municipal director of the National Tax Administration.

From the 60's of last century, the Cuban government in particular trades became state property, one of the essences of the new mode of production in the period of the dictatorship of the proletariat and subsequent building of socialism. And whatever they say in Europe and the United States, the proceedings against the island, is a clumsy, but tripped in the end, which limits the Cuban people in their transition to full development.

Reviews On Laticrete Grout Hemp

A faithful veterinary

On: Tuesday González

Trabajo por cuenta propia en ascenso Journalist (P): At the time of practical approach, the workers did you have on your side?

Miriela (M): The UBPC (Basic Unit of Cooperative Production) October 10 and December 2, the latter where I stayed as long as they were very good, also their relationships. From the beginning they helped me when I needed to recognize cooperation and appropriate treatment under a tree, a corral or open field.

(P): After that experience, is thought to follow the way of veterinary care?

(M): Livestock is a difficult job because you have to get up in the morning, in rainy weather or dry, whatever. For a woman is more difficult, the management of animals, many of them large, very heavy, hence we need more strength, the men are, yet I like what I do.

(P): Do you believe in what many call the weaker sex?

(M): I do not believe in the weaker sex. We are trained to perform any work, but there are some tasks that require de más fortaleza para realizarlas, como la de trabajar con animales grandes, digamos una reproductora, un toro, un caballo.

Our country has no resources to buy in the global market all that is needed in this aspect of nutrition, excessive taxation and the price today, diminishes our ability to purchase, which is why we must help to replace imports. (P): Did you ride a horse? (M): I never did that. Learned there, depending on my work. I felt pleasure. Soon it was all a genet for our properties between Maniabón communities and Santa Barbara.

(P): Dr. Miriela Castro Suarez longer works in Mt. Now holds the position of municipal episoteóloga at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine. This works with similar experience and interest at its launch in livestock unit October 10, in September 1998. Besides

A gentleman of poetry

Life is full of poetry and if we do not see it because that will urge us, but no doubt there. Feel it, stroke it to the fullness, is chosen and under Renael González Martín Batista (MRGB) is one of them.

His loquacity is apparently simple, but it's reflective nature. It seems that every day is to retrace his own musings office and if one is to make it something new, I can think is wise to ask with some erratic ways.

(P) I notice certain parallels between your childhood, your roots and tenth are they just imagining?

(RGB)
not be born in the field to write or improvise pp. She was born in Spain and farmers are the most renowned poets of the English Golden Age: Góngora, Quevedo, Lope de Vega, Vicente Espinel and Juan de Mal Lara, among others. I was born in rural area of \u200b\u200bHolguin and I can populate my verses with polychromatic flora and fauna; learned to bathe in the river and Ciguapas jigües and heard in the words of the mysterious noise grandparents night witches flying over the houses and palm groves . However, one of the Cuban provinces more suddenly and poets of the tenth is born and raised in it, is Havana. And you see, its roots are concrete and asphalt.

(P) When analyzing the personal efforts you make, which you have not yet recognized at all, to universalize the tenth is there a supreme commitment, with an ego much deeper, even without revealing?
(MRGB)

The tenth was universalized in the Hispanic world itself through the centuries. His birth, from the real song, had many variations, but always octosyllabic. With the conquest of the New World by the English was established more or less force in most Latin American territories, even to the southern United States had farmers. Currently, they can suddenly find hundreds of writers decimistas in Florida and other U.S. states. There is in French and Portuguese. Rosalia de Castro gave us some in Galician. In Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Peru, is alive and vigorous. In Spain you write less, although there are notable in the Canary Islands, parts of Andalusia renowned poets know that included in his work in other regions of the peninsula. I could mention José López Rueda Tino Barriuso, Carlos Benítez Villodres ... I have published books of stories for adults and children, free verse, sonnets, research, art, a novel ... I have no commitments to any literary genre, each is an invitation and an adventure. Marilé Serrano Suárez

(Q) There are people who rightly tenth to match the music, especially farmers. Although we have not seen literally sing did you ever do or have felt the need to do?

(MRGB)

Music and Tenth each have their own way to manifest. You can join because the rhyme and measure is provided the music composition. Many tenths is not only in Cuba, which make use of our traditional rural music. I have recordings of poets and composers Chileans and Mexicans that combine the genres tenths of their countries. Repentista am not nor have I felt this need or love, except in a country like ours, where the earth stops so many great improvisers.

Marilé Serrano Suárez, Premio en Concurso Nacional (P) You're one of the most important of the tenth in Cuba how do you get this does not affect your humble nature?

(MRGB)

I can assure you that I am not humble. The dictionary defines this word as "docile, lacking in pride, easy humiliate "and that does not agree with me. It would be unfair not to tell you that I have received many awards in Cuba and elsewhere, for my literary work. What happens is that I am not self-sufficient in the sense of self, "I do not think things", as popularly said.

(P) In these modern times we see many children and youth of the city cultivate a tenth, not only singing but also writing it. How dost this strophic form?

(MRGB)

As I pointed out above, the tenth was not born in the Cuban countryside, even in Cuba. Came from Spain and here, as Jesus Orta Ruiz said, "is aplatanado" and grew like grass-but-flowers in the fields and villages of the country. Great men of Cuban literature and write-wrote-tenths, including José Martí.

That many children and youth of the city also write and sing tenths ensures the continuity of a poetic and musical expression of deep roots that has been said, is the National Stanza Cuba.

Gas Stations With Bathrooms

A latent threat: nuclear radiation

The nuclear accident at Chernobyl raised (Ukraine) for more than two decades is without doubt one of the greatest environmental disasters in history.

However, recently experienced events in Japan have been alarmed at the possibility of another nuclear disaster related to the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station, mainly due to the implications que tendría sobre la salud pública y ambiental producto de la liberación de radioactividad en el medio ambiente.

At the core of a reactor there is more than fifty pollutants, of which the most dangerous, some are short-lived as the iodine-131 and other living longer and the Strontium-90 and cesium-137.

impacts on public health and environment caused by the most significant excess of radiation are cancer, leukemia, burns, extreme, genetic mutations, temporary or permanent sterility, necrosis of the skin and internal tissues, destruction of bone marrow, decreased immune system, among other various injuries. While the most sensitive environmental potential danger would be high biological concentration of radioactive substances along food chains. This will produce an indirect radioactive contamination over a period through the sediments in aquatic environments, air and land would generate a chain reaction on the ecosystems that would endanger human biological diversity, animal and plant.

The potential threat caused by the ravages of nature in Japan and encumbrances on the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station have been the world look the evidence of one of the major potential impacts resulting from the use of a nuclear power plant . According to information reported in the web of WNA World Nuclear Association, there are about 440 nuclear plants in 30 countries of the world that cause 14% of worldwide electricity.
It makes sense that these plants are spread in many countries that sought besides reducing their energy costs, paradoxically, as a measure of environmental protection, reducing emissions of GHGs (greenhouse gases). Undoubtedly, the various alternative energy such as solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, among others, also generate negative environmental impacts. However, the important thing when deciding which energy technology to adopt, is to weigh the ability to manage these impacts through preventive measures, safety and mitigation analyzed all the possible scenarios so that "the cure is not more expensive than the disease."
By the way, is now three tasks: first to control and isolate the affected area to evacuate the residents closest , second and product of lessons learned invigorating energy policies and global security and finally all as citizens to adopt and use practices of healthy consumption and energy saving.
